LITE-SOIL products are based on water storage mats that have been tried and tested over many years. These environmentally friendly and high-strength geotextiles/nonwovens are made from sustainable polypropylene or biodegradable/compostable feedstocks such as wood fibre nonwoven (approx. 1 year) and PLA (approx. 5-10 years). Since these nonwovens consist of up to 90 % open, interconnected air pores, they are very good at capillary transfer of air and water on the one hand and also serve as effective water reservoirs. Due to the new design as a net (LITE-NET) or as strips (LITE-STRIPS), there are many new application possibilities as well as immense advantages. LITE-STRIPS

The water reservoirs close to the roots

The 7 cm long LITE-STRIPS make dense soil more permeable and serve mainly as a water reservoir as well as substrate improvement. To do this, mix the thick nonwoven strips into the soil down to root depth (depending on the application, between 2 and 10 % volume for planters or 0.5 – 1.0 l/m² for lawns). Up to 90% of the non-wovens volume can be filled with water and thus help plants through longer dry periods. Depending on the variant – biodegradable or not – LITE-STRIPS can be used in a wide variety of applications, especially for plant troughs, rolled turf, green roofs, sports fields, lawns, raised planting beds and aerification.

LITE-CUBES

LITE-CUBES are available in a special small cube form for spray planting, green roofsand propagation pots. For aerification, LITE-CUBES (small nonwoven cubes) are swept into the aerification holes together with sand. This new type of aerification offers many years of benefit.

Like networked water veins, LITE-NET, which is installed root-deep in the ground, works. It distributes air and water over a large area at the root level and serves as a water reservoir. If required, all the water is available to the roots, as the open net structure allows roots to grow through it without any problems and dock onto the nonwoven all around. This also makes a very flexible, 3-dimensional installation possible. The 8 mm thick basic version stores up to 7 l of water per m². In addition to the standard mesh size C20 with a diameter of approx. 13 cm, smaller meshes C14 with a diameter of approx. 9 cm are also available for e.g. slope plantings or vetetation nets. The biodegradable LITE-NET is used, for example, for slope greening, vegetation nets and distribution nets for trees, raised planting beds and larger plant troughs, vegetable beds or lawns. The permanent variants are used, for example, as distribution components for underground irrigation, as well as for sports fields, green roofs, tree pit inlays, vineyards, lawns, green slopes and filter basins.

BLUELITE-NET

The active BLUELITE-NETsystem is a completely new and technically improved solution for water-saving underground irrigation for e.g. trees or sports fields. It consists of 3 elements: 1PIPE for drip irrigation 2 BLUELITE-COVER(a protective non-woven cover for the pipe, which protects the water in a 3LITE-NETin which it is then distributed over a large area in the root zone. 1 + 2= BLUELITE-TUBE (Tube 1 + LITE-COVER 2) The BLUELITE-COVERdistributes the water linearly along the pipe,thereby increasing the water/soil contact area a thousandfold and protecting the pipe openings against root ingrowth and against blockage by soil fines. Bewässerung unterirdisch LITESOIL BLUELITENET

Underground irrigation means that evaporation, matting or surface waterlogging are non-existent, reducing surface treatment costs. Watering is possible at any time and continuously, even when the lawn is being played on or mowed. Due to the open and flexible shape of the net, there is no barrier whatsoever, i.e. it can be laid at any depth, as plant roots can easily grow through it, anchor themselves around the net and thus extract 100% of the water stored in the net when needed. The plants are also optimally supplied in the growing phase or with a plant mix. Compared to spray irrigation, up to 70 % water is saved. The BLUELITE-COVERcan – if desired – also be delivered without an irrigation pipe and other pipes can be inserted by yourself.

BLUELITE-RING

The disadvantage of conventional drip irrigation pipes when laid underground is the risk of the nozzles being blocked by soil fines and roots, as well as uneven water distribution. Therefore, these pipes are mostly laid above ground. However, these are often damaged there, which means that a sufficient supply of water is no longer guaranteed. Hence THE solution with theBLUELITE-RING: For existing trees, the BLUELITE-RING– a fleece-covered irrigation pipe – is led in a ring around the trunk at a depth of approx. 5-10 cm and connected with a spur line. When planting new trees, theBLUELITE-RINGis placed on a LITE-NETgrowing net. Thus, the water is effectively and evenly directed to the roots. Further advantages: No clogging of the irrigation openings by roots or fine particles. The escaping water is distributed capillary in the fleece jacket and irrigates the surrounding area evenly over a very large contact surface. Protection of the Irrigation pipes against vandalism and UV influence. Personnel costs and water consumption are significantly reduced.

BLUELITE-AGRI

The versatile water distributor

BLUELITE-AGRIis a cost-effective combination of a drip irrigation hose with a protective, distributing and water-retaining fleece cover and is inserted underground into the soil at root depth. BLUELITE-AGRIis intended for use on existing vineyards, vegetable gardens, orchards or fields. They can also be used for any lawn, trees, bushes or in larger plant troughs.

Most damage to trees occurs at construction sites. Although the protection of trees is prescribed by numerous laws and standards, roots are still frequently torn off and damaged by construction vehicles. The consequential damage is enormous and can lead from the death to the fall of the tree. Our LITE-ROOTPROTECTas a root bandage consists of a 10 cm wide roll of a 100% biodegradable water retention fleece. It is simply wrapped around the exposed roots and moistened. The wider LITE-ROOTPROTECTMandL can be optimally used as a root curtain. It holds water much better than conventional construction site fleeces or jute mats. In conjunction with our fleece-covered drip irrigation hose at the top edge, moisture maintenance can also be automatic. Advantages Not only protects against sunand damage, but also keeps the roots permanently moist! LITE-ROOTPROTECTis100 % biodegradable and therefore does not need to be dismantled again.
