The LITE-NET as extensive drainage absorbs the water at the surface of the distribution launders and dsitributes it underground in e.g. 5 cm deep extensively and equally over der filter area, as a result:
- less water at the surface
- a generous water distribution into the soil
- reduced felting
- an increase of water permeability in the top soil
- less verticulation necessary
- preserved permeability of the soil
- roots are encouraged to grow down to the aquiferous layer
- encouraged plant growth
- the filter basin is more easily accessible e.g. for mowing
LITE-NET can also be installed in an undulating way as sludge drainage. Thus water is drained extensively from the surface down through the sludge into the underground, as a result:
- the complete sealing of the surface by fine particles is prevented
- the lifetime of the filter basin is increased significantly
The bases for the very voluminous and flexible LITE-NET are retentive nonwovens or drainage mats. They consist of environmentally friendly, high-strength and rot-proof geotextiles/nonwovens such as long-lasting polypropylene. As these nonwovens consist approx. up to 90% of open and interconnected voids, they can drain and retain water very well.
