Aeration and irrigation of trees in cities / Moving large trees
Due to climate change, we increasingly need urban trees as “air conditioning”. In order to be able to develop their full effect, trees must grow large and old. To do this, the roots need sufficient space and soil compaction must be kept to a minimum.
The novel LITE-NET irrigates AND aerates tree roots extensively, efficiently and evenly. The roots can easily grow through the net and soil compaction is prevented.
The basis of the very voluminous, robust and flexible nets are special water storage fleeces. These consist of environmentally friendly geotextiles/fleeces made of sustainable polypropylene or biodegradable raw materials such as wood fibre and PLA. As these nonwovens consist of up to approx. 90% of open, interconnected air pores, they are able to conduct or drain air and water very well on the one hand and serve as water storage in addition.
